Double Period Project 1812 / 1912 Finale
Next are the pictures for 1912 Woman's Tailored Suit.
Ok, I did not make the underbust corset this time. I made it for an earlier costume and decided to use it with this one as well. I really like the black and white stripes. It is solid black on the reverse side.
I like the drawers as well.
The camisole and drawers without the corset. They look rather sad without it.
This was not the shirtwaist that I documented in an earlier post. It was great, but, once it was finished, the color and fabric was to heavy for the suit. So, I had to make three additional items, the white under shirtwaist, the black lace over shirt and the jabot.
Again, they look rather sad without the skirt. So much better with it.
The finished tailored suit. It has a slight cut-away front, very similar to the 1812 man's frockcoat.
I just couldn't get the stand to act right at all. So, there's slight lean.
The fur, it really adds something to the entire outfit.
Add the fur muff and it is really coming together. The fur muff is on my wig stand that I made out of a broken fan. The base of the fan was good, so I removed the extra parts and added a lot of padding and duct tape, you have great wig stand and a muff holder.
I am especially proud of the hat.
So, this 1912 lady of a certain age is really to go out for the day.
In style, I might add.
A closer pic of the hat and the back of coat with fur. That's it, the 1912 ensemble.
